Bali Surfing

Surfing in Bali. Bali has excellent waves all year round, ideal for every kind of surfer - from beginner to barrel junkie.

Renowned surf spots include Uluwatu in Bali, Grajagan in Java and Nias off Sumatra, but there is surf along the southern coast of virtually all the islands in Nusa Tenggara.

The dry winter months (June-September) are preferred for surf conditions, however this means that these are also the most crowded times. Given a bit of local knowledge it is still possible to find uncrowded perfect breaks in Bali.

Kuta Beach

Take a second to look away from the flashy lights, fancy hotels, expensive night clubs, and heaps of tourists... you might just see Kuta Beach. A heaven for surfers and backpackers looking to spend a day in the sun, surf decent waves, eat cheap and delicious food, and make great Indonesian friends.
